And just like that ... Studio 54

For those who are not in the know, Generations is a Covid baby, spontaneously created out of sheer passion, without external financing.
My associate and co-founder and I shook hands over a platter of oysters on January 24th 2020.
Shortly afterwards the first confinement happened.
Even though we were highly skilled professionals each in our field, I let you imagine the challenge it has been to start from nothing and with nothing but the will to work together,  driven by the almighty love of fashion.
Skip that first year to get to one day in May 2021 when I get one of my mad ideas :  to do a photoshoot inspired from the Studio54 days. I had found the location, but had to privatize it, secure the time slot for 6 persons, and shoot 20 different looks in two hours sharp.

As all young businesses, one starts with a crazy idea and puts it in action with not many means to achieve it.
But one has a meaningful network and knows how to put together the right people.
I cannot thank enough Redley Exantus and Anna-Maria Olivi who agreed to do this upon my single description of the shoot.
My idea was based on a selection of clothes envisioned in a crazy place, the common theme was Studio54, madness and elegance entwined.
Crazily enough Redley had a common past with the infamous NY nightclub.
Shortly afterwards a friend of mine, "The Princess" who used to work at Vogue in the early 80’s provided me with a detailed account of what that scene was about in those days : Elegance and craziness were still intertwined, even though The Princess felt that the seventies crowd was well tired from their excesses, I still had a consistant tale of the early 80’s at Studio54.
Bianca Jagger was still a regular, arriving in amazing outfits, Michael Jackson’s Thriller video clip was shown for the first time there : A giant screen scrolled down between the iconic towering baffles and amidst lots of smoke the crowd was amazed at the novelty and sheer genius of the 12 minutes screening. But then Donna Summer in the late seventies had trained us to withstand with utter joy the longest tracks.
So voilà, my girls went with my ideas and against all odds that Studio 54 inspired shoot was made in two hours sharp.
We know we are young at this but we at Generations hope you will appreciate our work, always created with passion.
